The 4g63 is a nice motor, this is true, BUT, with some work the 420a can be just as good as the 4g63. I am a huge dsm tuner, and I have seen 420a's with well over 500whp. As a matter of fact, there is a video on youtube that showa a 11 second 420a... normally aspirated. If you want some ideas go to http://www.team-2g.com

im not an expert but if you do everything right you should be able to put 300 - 400hp to the ground with no real issues. you just can't cut corners, if you do your car will pretty much explode in one way or another. you can make about 200 hp without a turbo or nos if you really want.

Nice lookin Talon. As far as turbocharging the car, your goals would be met easier if you had a 4g63 equipted DSM. The chrysler 420a(non turbo engine) is a good economical engine, but the Mistubishi 4g63(turbo engine) was built for winning world rally championships. The engines have the same displacement, but the 4g63 has been proven time and time again to be a stout little shit and has piloted some of the fastest four cylinder drag cars in the world. If you really want to go through with turbocharging your 420a I would look into a star turbo kit or a Hahn racecraft kit. Both are well engineered, but I am afraid you will be building an engine to hit 300+ whp with either kit.
