Sold, as of 08.22.09.

This is my "project" car.
She's got a 283 with an Powerglide auto tranny. No power anything .
Original paint, no rust. Sure, the paint is flaking here and there, but it's hard to have zero rust on a car that's over 50 years old.

She's got around 61,000 original miles, and was a South Carolina car before she moved up to Ohio.

The carb was rebuilt in '08, and installed along with new battery, battery cables, terminals, points, condenser, rotor, cap, wires, fuel filter and fuel pump.  I have a complete box of suspension rebuild parts, including bushings and the like to be installed.

I'm having a bit of an issue getting her running at the moment.  The points went out, and then we put new ones in.  Turns out there is a vacuum port in the back of the carb for a power brake setup, which this car doesn't have.  I've bought a brass plug for the hole, but the carb still needs a little fine tuning to run just right.

The exhaust are dual Glasspax, and are deafening. Like setting-off-every-car-alarm-in-a-ten-mile-radius defeaning. They were on it when I bought her.

The following are shots during her nearly ten-year stay in my grandma's pole barn, which was a few years ago:

Missing the carb, but man, do I love all that engine space:

You really learn to appreciate engine bays like this after you work on a late-model car. No computer, no power steering pump, no nothing but the engine and the generator to deal with.

Wheel well shot; notice the lack of rust (and the fact that it's painted...)

Thanks! It is going well. I will be welding on the new front soon. :)=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-RE: Restoration's an impressive feat, but always worth it when you love the car. Excellent work.
