This is my daily driver! It is driven around town and on trips 4 to 5 hours from home. When building the turbo system I was careful to design it and cover all details so the engine would remain reliable.

Engine started as a 2.8L V6 with a VarajetII carb. This was repalced with a MPFI fuel injection system from a junk car. Then the crank and pistons were replaced with 3.1 crank and .060 overbore pistons. This gives 3.2 liters.

After that came the turbo and intercooler. This car has so much torque it will change lanes by its self and go zero to 60 in under 6 seconds!

The turbo exhaust and charge air pipework are custom built by me. This is not a turbo kit and the turbo was not made especially for this car. It is an off-the-shelf Turbonetics item. The system is something I designed and built using salvaged and stock replacement parts for different vehicles and industrial engines.

Transmission is a modified THM 440T4 4-speed automatic. The final drive and chain ratios have been adjusted to take advantage of the engine's power.

It has a console shift which you don't see often in A-body cars. Options also include power windows, locks, seats, cruise, tilt column, 3-spoke steering wheel, (originally) leather seats now vinyl, radio with EQ, and blue trim lights between the doors.

The car had "T-Type" emblems when I got it but not sure it was originally a T-Type. I still have the emblems and will put them on after it is restored.

Mods include power inverter, oversize alternator, 100 watt high-beam lights, foglights, filled-in trunk lock (keyless release only), keyless entry, automatic headlights, and of course turbocharger and supporting systems. I have a set of Buick Century steel "rally style" wheels yet to be installed.

The above shows the car as it looks today.

Last image shows my home-made "all metal" transmission TV cable. The original plastic one melted because it goes RIGHT NEXT to the turbo and wastegate.

One of my project goals with this car was to build a fast car, without loss of the car's options or accessories.

You can find many cars that have been made fast and powerful. But look and you will only find a few that have been made fast and powerful, with out loosing at least one option.

This car has functional Cruise, Air Conditioner, Power Steering, and Power Brakes. The exhaust system is complete and exits the rear of the car.

The engine modifications were designed around the existing parts when possible. When this was not possible, the car's factory systems were modified to accomodate the turbo system hardware.

Turbochargers add power by way of increasing engine TORQUE. The engine does not have to exceed its factory RPM rating to make power. Turbo power is not like a high-revving "big cam" engine. This engine has amazing mid-range torque right in the street driving range. If you ease the throttle open, without activating passing-gear, you feel the torque press you back in the seat. The power is effortless and always available. Press it all the way into passing gear, and it is light lighting a rocket. Radar detector flies off the dash, stuff in the floor goes underneath the seats and you better have both hands on the wheel, if you know what I mean!
