Dal1800frogeye's 1963 Austin-Healey SpriteHi just a bit of info about my frog/bugeye sprite, I bought the car at the tail end of 2004 , with the full intention of modding it , the car was a standard 1098 mk 2 sprite with the seats and carpet missing , the goog thing was it had been owned by the same guy since 1971 and not been on road since 72 he had taken it off the road just to do a bit of light restoration but didnt finish it and so had been kept in a dry warm workshop for just over 30 years , my plan was to out the A series engine and fit a tuned ford engine this was to be a tuned 1700 crossflow/kent engine with a pair of webers and a fast road cam , i also fitted a 5 speed type 9 gearbox and a ford anglia back axle c/w lsd 4:1 ratio, this was all finished in june 06 i kept it that way for just over a year in that year i used it for sprinting autotesting and a bit of drag racing at santa pod , The need for speed has made me decide to fit a ford zetec engine iv gone for the 1800 version as its ment to be the revyer one to go for and things like water pump , fly wheel and sump dont have to be messed with and oh yeah it was mega cheep with fairly low millage (60000) i have fitted twin 45 webers for the fueling and an omex ecu for the ignition so far i have had it all up and running and a few test drives a round the block ( goes really well :-) ) at this point in time i have stripped it all back down to give it a refresh/repaint in engine bay in all to get from xflow to where i am now has only taken about 6 weeks of some evenings and weekends Dal1800frogeye's 1963 Austin-Healey Sprite Dal1800frogeye's 1963 Austin-Healey SpriteThis is a further update on my frogeye , i had the 1800 zetec in for just over a year , in yhat time i built a 2.0 litre zetec to put in over xmass of 2008 , i also had the gearbox uprated with longer 1st gear and stronger internals ,  i also fitted bigger 10 " front discs with 4 pot calipers at the rear i also modded the rear axle location this involved fitting a munfold link which has masivley inproved handling , the 2.0 litre is producing 167 bhp at the wheels , and has run a 13.8 at santa pod and had quite a few 1st in class in the sprinting championship im in  Dal1800frogeye's 1963 Austin-Healey Sprite Dal1800frogeye's 1963 Austin-Healey Sprite Dal1800frogeye's 1963 Austin-Healey Sprite Dal1800frogeye's 1963 Austin-Healey Sprite Dal1800frogeye's 1963 Austin-Healey Sprite Dal1800frogeye's 1963 Austin-Healey Sprite
