Picked this storm up off of eBay for $800.00, it was only 2 hours from my house.

These are the original pictures from the ad. The Car was completely stock.

-The car has rust around all of the fenders.
-263 000KMs
-Rebuilt Engine
-New Clutch
-No radio
-MINT interior
-New rad / hoses, timing belt, full new OEM exhaust, and starter.
-Passed safety fine, just needed an EGR valve for e-test. (Turns out finding a Geo Storm EGR valve was as hard as winning the lottery! I ended up pulling my original EGR out and JB-welding the blatter so it would hold vacuum.)

Interior before cleaning / shampooing

Found 4 new 17" CAM rims and tires for $400.00 from a friend. They fit perfectly, and were awfully cheap! They really give the car an aggressive look.

Full shot of rims

I didn't like the blacked-out tail light covers at first, but they really grew on me. They give the car a more gloomy, mysterious rear end. (Don't mind the duct tape!)

Opened the door to go to work today, and to my surprise!

I got a good laugh out of this

On top of that, i blew a tire in a massive pot-hole dropping a friend off at the train station the day before! This was a low-point in Kimberly's (Geo's) life.

Got much done today on the car. Oil change, plugs, found the source of the stupid power steering leak. I also took my rims off. They looked great, but i managed to get someone to buy them for MUCH more than what i paid for them originally. We will be getting snow soon anyways.

***Updated***

My car began overheating recently, so first things first, decided to throw in a thermostat. Things got worse after that and eventually realized there was mass amounts of oil in my coolant. Head gasket time. First time it needed to be done after 280 000KMs, not to bad at all.

Heres some pictures. Finally had an opportunity to replace my leaky valve cover gasket, look at my oily engine!

Got the head resurfaced, pressure tanked, ect. While I had the cams out I installed new valve stem seals in hopes of that curing the #1 cylinders oily plug. Also did the obvious, timing belt, serpentine belt, tensioners, all gaskets.

I purchased the entire gasket kit from Fel-Pro. I hear on stormowners.com that they are not the best choice for our engines due to the coating they put on the head gasket. That of course is for THIS application. I ended up buying the Fel-Pro because the priced was right, and i'll be tearing the whole block down once I get to my turbo plans anyways. All in all the whole job only cost me $300cdn.

Got it all back together, ran well once I got the timing sorted out. The 1.8s are incredibly hard to burp form what I have found. Even with the top jacked up and PLEANTY of time to get the air out of the coolant system, I still had an air bubble stopping my coolant flow. I had overlooked the screw coming out of the thermostat housing that is used to relieve the system of air. Problem solved.

Storm runs great now, come spring I will start extensive body work. Rear fenders, both rocker panels, paint. I think i'll stick with the factory black.
