This is my 7th car, a 1992 Ford Taurus SHO MTX.

It is white with 16" white aluminum "slicer" wheels and graphite interior. I bought the car on 11/11/07 for $3600 with 128,000 miles on the odo. I was willing to spend that much because it has all the SHO trouble areas taken care of (new timing-belt, valve-lash adjustment, water pump, crank & cam angle sensors, and new upgraded clutch). It also has brand-new brakes, 6 month-old tires, and a 2 year old paint job. Not to mention a fresh full tune up.
The SHO taurus came with a Ford/Yamaha motor, full luxury interior, and very sporty (stiff) suspension. 89-91 (gen 1) SHO's only came one way, 3.0 liter DOHC 220hp, 200lb/ft v6 engine and 5 speed manual trans. In 92-95 (gen 2) ford also added a 3.2 liter 220hp, 215lb/ft v6 4 speed auto to the line-up, although gen 2 autos are SLOWWW.. For the (96-99) gen 3 SHO Ford again only had it one way, but this time it was a 3.4 liter 235hp, 230 lb/ft V8 4 speed auto combo. Gen 3 SHO's are faster than gen 2 auto's but gen 1/2 manuals are the fastest.
1/4 mile times:
stock gen 1 15.2 sec.
stock gen 2 MTX 15.3 sec.
stock gen 2 auto 16.2 sec.
stock gen 3 15.7 sec.
My modded 92 gen 2 MTX 14.7 sec.

0-60mph times:

stock gen 1 6.6 sec.

stock gen 2 MTX 6.7 sec

stock gen 2 auto around 8-8.5 sec.

stock gen 3 7.5 sec.

My modded 92 gen 2 MTX 6.4 sec.

My best guestimates on power are 220-240WHP (280-290 engine hp)@6500rpm, and 190-200lb/ft of torque at the wheels (230-240lb/ft at engine)@5000rpm.

21. 225-55-16 Hankook Ventus V4 es UHP all season tires

23. hp-3001 1qt. K&N oil-filter, (stock is hp-2001 1/2qt)

24. SHOsource urethane rod shifter bushings

This summer I started auto-crossing with the SHO. I raced this year with mods 1-20 on the above list. There was some pretty stiff competition in my mod class SS2, bolt-on mustangs and f-bodies as well as an SVT contour and SVT focus. Well long story short, I won my class with shitty tires and mostly stock suspension. SHO's are made for this and I can't wait till next season and not only win my class, but try to win over-all with my new tires, sway-bars, and eibachs, possibly more!

click these links to watch me race, both races I was running mods 1-20 on the above list. Note the MASSIVE understeer, I was on horrible skinny tires and stock sway bars:

I like the high-temp paint on the engine. That white with those rims really pops! NICE SHO! It's a 555555555!
