This 1973 Leyland Mini I had shipped from australia at the same time my other mini was sent here.

My other mini was used as a racing car in australia.

I stole all the components off that car and they are going in to this car.
Here's a picture of my dad (the real brains behind my operation) helping me pull an engine for the first time.

He taught me everything I know and he started my obsession with cars. Look at his garage, how could you not catch the bug... The man has a lift in his garage for God's sake...

Almost out...

Finally after much prodding, prying, repositioning, and swearing...

Wow that lump was dirty

Here's a picture of the engine once we were done with it.

Much nicer eh? We did a complete teardown, inspection, and rebuild. We also discovered it's MUCH easier to deal with the engine and subframe as one unit.
I had the head professionally rebuilt and had the shop install the biggest valves possible in there.

Automotive porn...

We also powdercoated the subframe, painted the engine, installed braided brake lines, all new front end bushings, new balljoints, slotted rotors, painted the calipers

Ain't she perty? Look at that freakin Weber 45DCOE Sidedraft, oh my god does that make it scream.
Here's my dad guiding me through a test run.

We had this installed in the blue mini for years and I even took it to the track once. When dyno'd it had 80.6 HP, don't laugh, for a 1500 pound car that's pretty good. And if you've never done a complete front end rebuild on a car before, let me tell you, it makes the car drive like the day it left the factory.
I just sold the blue mini but kept the front and rear subframes, roll cage, and this whole mess of stuff is gonna go in to my 73.
