1985 Audi UR Quattro. Owned from April 2003 - June 2003

My dream car! I had wanted one of these ever since seeing one spitting flames on the RAC rally in the early 80's.

I had decided to try and find an S2 Coupe but got sidetracked by this beauty in my local newspaper.

It had been owned by an Audi technician from a local dealership and had undergone a glass out respray a couple of years earlier.

What a beauty. I still think it's one of the best looking cars ever.

It sounded good too with a Scorpion single silencer stainless system.

Interior was grey leather, an option that cost over ?1000 in 1985. It also had a sunroof.

Digital dash was horrible!

The oily bits. 200bhp 5 cylinder turbo, although I think it was developing way less than that!!

The love affair was short lived and within a couple of weeks I was considering selling the car as it just would not run properly. I bit the bullet and had a specialist take a look. they serviced and tuned it and when I picked it up it was fantastic. It pulled like a train and sounded amazing. By the time I had got home though it was back to the way it was before. The specialist told me it may have needed a new injection metering head and at ?500 for a recon unit I just couldn't afford to carry on and had to sell the car.
