Welcome to my Domain. My name is Don Bedford, or as I am known throughout the PT Community "Candyman". If you rome around most PT Websites, you can find my Step by Step Guide to Automotive Detailing. I am also actively involved with most PT Cruiser Clubs out on the West Coast, and work with Meguiar's on Sponsership for most of PT Car Shows throughout California. I also have a PT Enthusiest Website "West Valley Cruisers" which is dedicated, and open to anyone, and everyone who is a fan of the PT Cruiser. Please check out our Link at the bottom of this page.
My ride is a 2003 PT Dream Cruiser Series 2. It is Model # 0377 of 2200 units that have been confirmed to have been produced by Chrysler in 2003. The total number of units slated for production was to be 4700 units worldwide, but the Dream Cruiser Series 2 was to be cut short as Dealerships feared the Tangerine color would not sell. Though only 2200 units were of the Limited Edition were ever produced, Chrysler has confirmed that the sequential Numbered Plates were not applied in order, which resulted in some umbers reaching as high as 2600. During the begining of production, their were also several Dream Cruisers that were kept by Chrysler for crash, and testing purposes.
The 2003 Dream Cruiser Sereis 2 is the second installment in the Dream Cruiser Series, and came stock with its signiture Tangerine Pearl Paint, and 2 tone Orange, and Slate Leather Interior. It also came with every option available in 2003, and has 4 wheel disk breaks, 17" GT Wheels with orange center caps, as well as the High Output 16 valve double overhead can 4 cilyinder engine which produces 215 HP. Like all Dream Cruisers, my PT is identified as a Dream Cruiser by its signiture Dream Cruiser Badge on the left rear side of the trunk, and its numbered identification located at the bottom of the power window switch plate. One of the few options available was the upgraded Autostick Automatic in which you could choose from either using it as an automatic, or shifting gears manually by paddling the gear shift from left to right.
I have owned the car since it was new, and until recently it was driven daily. I have kept it on a strict Detailing Schedule to keep it as clean, as the day it left the showroom, and usually average 40+ hours a month in detailing. All of the Chemicals, and waxes I use on my ride have been custom mixed by myself to ensure maximum gloss, depth, and color.
The list of modifications I have done to my ride are a Custom 3/5 drop on springs that a friend of mine made from scratch which give my PT a ride height of 4" level both front, and back. I have recently added my new Flames which are explained in more detail on Page 2. I have also recently had the aluminum Intake Manifold Polished to a near Chrome Finish, and had a custom made Shifter Knob made from a 1938 Harley Davidson Piston which looks more proportionally correct for the PT.
My current projects I am working on at this time are, a bunch of Diamond Plate going throughout the Interior, working on my low pitched Chopper Style Mirror's which will be mounted on custom made billet plates which will flare out, and will be threaded for easy Mirror instalation, and hopefully heading back into the body shop for a couple more mod's before the 2009 PT River Run.
My next mod's I am working on for 2009 are, a set of 10" Foose Design Wheels, installation of air ride suspention, install 2 full size headrests with 7" monitor's in the back seat, install a 15" FlipDown Monitor in the trunk, install my last two 1000 watt Rockford Fozgate Amplifier's, install 60 Orange LED Lights throughout the interior, and exterior, finish installation of my XBOX 360 console in its custom mount under the drivers side seat, and hopefully finally finish up my remote activated power forward tilt hood kit.
I will be sure to post photo's of my progress, so please check back soon.
