The Reverend . Another name, given from my wife. Why reverend ? The first owner was a reverend. To easy, ya ? Life can be easy ;)

How did I get to this beautiful car ? A call from a friend. If you take a look at my other Beetles (ED and Andrea ), you will mention, that they all have the semi-automatic gearbox. My friend noticed that there is a beetle at a salesman, who wants to wreck it. He called me and I bought it as a spare-parts car. The parts for semi-automatic Beetles are more expensive and hard to get. The condition was really bad and I decided, to take all the parts I need and get the rest to the junk yard - till I got the titel.
The look into the title changed my decision. The car had ONE owner and the speedometer shows the original milage of just 40.000 ! That was the point, I started to restore the car.

In fact, that the condition was the baddest I've ever had. I decided, to buy the big parts new. So I got a new chassis and a new body. The fenders were also replaced by new parts.
My brother and I built the car up in just eight weeks ! It was great and made a lot of fun. Parallel to his 1980 Beetle we finished the restoration of both cars at one day, so that we could take part on a Beetle swap meet in Stuttgart - with two 'just-ready' beautiful cars.

Some technical details: it's the 'Big Beetle' - the 1303, 1.6 liter engine, 50 HP, semi-automatic transmission, sliding roof :)

And some (small) pics of the restauration. It becam the major parts new. Just the doors, trunk lid, back lid, engine, axles and the interieur is old.

Here you can see, how bad the conditions was, before we started the restauration . The body went to the junk..

...and the white Beetle. My brother and I finished at the same time two Beetles. The white one after eight months and 'The Reverend' after eight weeks

Sorry but i havent been on in a while. I got the front wide 5 drums from somewhere online, I cant remember, and the rears off of a 66 67 bug and they both just fit right in. I tried adapters but never liked them so i went with the drums. Nice looking bug man
