rxman7's 1993 Mazda RX-7

This site is dedicated to one of my favorite cars, my 1993 Mazda RX-7. My name is Derrick J. Berg and I reside in New Braunfels, TX.

I have owned at least eight Mazda RX-7s (that I can remember!). So, the rotary engine is very dear to me. Once you have driven one, you can understand why it is unlike any other engine in the world. No other engine is as smooth under acceleration!

When the first 3rd generation RX-7 spy photos were released I knew I had to have one! When they finally arrived here, I bought one of the first ones to arrive in San Antonio. July 27th, 1992 was the day that I brought home the newest RX-7 to my stable. At the time I had three other RX-7s of various years. I had to sell all but one. Believe me, I was very content with just the '93 in the garage!

Over the years my car has under gone various performance modifications. I am on my third set of custom wheels! (The best yet!) 17x8 in the front and 18x9.5 in the back. They are Speed Star Racing GP-0 super light alloy, three piece racing wheels. The shocks have been upgraded to Tokico Illumina 5-way adjustable gas charged units. What a difference! A Mostly Mazda M-2 cold air box has been installed, a Pettit Racing modified computer, 3" turbo down-pipe, and Borla SS cat-back exhaust round out the current mods. Can you say, "A whole lot quicker?? !!" The appearance of my RX-7 is kept in tip-top shape by Mother’s “California Gold” 3-step system.

That was then,.......this is now!!

Hey man im in the market for some new springs. Do your Racing Beat springs give you a smooth enough ride? The springs I have now make my car bounce everywhere

Hey man thanks. Im afraid I bought it this way. I figure why start from scratch. I did put in the speakers and cat. But i have huge plans for it. Adding a little bit more each paycheck. Next on my list is a power FC. You have an awesome car man! Im very impressed, I'd get a 20b swap too if I didn't have a new motor in it. I'm actually looking for a good rotary mechanic in the area. If you have a good one please let me know, I wanna do this machine right. But I def will flag you down If i catch you on the road.

This rotory powerplant you have aint no punk! 525hp and the torque is just amazing sitting at 411. Very clean and simple on the exterior, but you already know the rules...keep up the great work and Happy Boosting into the '09!
