MY 1970 CHEVY EL CAMINO
"IN X ES"

Top Overall Rides, #4- thank you for the ratings everyone, that is so awesome, I am a huge car guy, my car means so much to me, and to get 4th overall in ratings, THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!
As you can probably tell from my pictures, I'm just a young guy, I turn 17 in May, so a lot of the stuff I am doing to my El Camino will be spaced out over a few years when I have more money because I plan on holding onto the car for a long time.

But dont get me wrong, I'm young but I'm a huge car fan and know A LOT about cars especially muscle cars, and i worked hard for this car, worked full time for a few summers saving up all my money to buy it, am not some spoiled rich kid who had my dad buy me car, its all mine, money I worked for to buy, license and insure it all in my name

The car has under 60 000 original miles! It was in Northen Ontario its whole life, so as soon as there was snow it was stored, so it only ended up being driven about 4-5 months a year, so an awesome low mile soon to be daily driven 350 horsepower muscle truck

Since I just got my license and my car is in storage for the winter, i drive my moms FWD minivan lmao, and right now most of my driving experience is doing bar runs for my brothers and their friends lol

Me beside it the day i got it
My 350, factory rated at 260 horsepower/348 lb ft of torque at 9.25:1 compression with the factory 2 barrel carb, soon to have a 570-670 cfm 4 barrel and aluminum heads and new camshaft with more agressive lift, the plan is about 350 horsepower at the flywheel in the next year or two when i have the money
My el camino across the street, I love that stance tilting forward
Silver paint with black SS stripes over the hood
drivers side, new 350 emblems, window tint, etc.
the view from the back, and now i've goten some reproduction reverse lens covers to really finish off the exterior
My interior, nothing special, bench seat, new door panels, am still painting my dashboard is still taken apart at this time (so not in picture)
My door panels, have been redone in original style, also you can really see my window tint
The back end, now i got a reproduction 'CHEVROLET' eblem thats missing form the tailgate and new reverse lenses

Also I am going to build a dual exhaust system in the spring, Challenger T/A style in front of the rear wheels

Having a bit of fun with the El Camino the first day out on the road with it

Here are my two new Sony X-Plod 6 X 9 inch mids- 320 watts, 4 way speakers

My new head unit, and Alipne CDE-9881

This is a custom box I made for my head unit to sit in underneath the dash so I dont have to cut open my factory dash, built it with wood I had in the shop, routered the edges and sanded it all right smooth. I'm really happy with how it turned out, and it was free to make lol
And now here is the same box after i stained it really dark to match my interior
My new intake manifold, an Edelbrock Performer Series
My new carb, an Edelbrock 750 CFM double pump carb- a huge step up from my factory 2 barrel
The El Camino ready to come out of winter storage, just got it fired up
Back home, taking off the floor pan and replacing floor, the original floor was really rusty, someone just put a patch panel over it, so i'm taking it all out and doing it right(my dad in the pic)

The bed floor after i got the patch panel off, someone befote me just stuck new metal over the rust, since i plan on owning this car for many years, i decided to do it right and put all new metal in- ouch that rust is bad!
One of the 2 new panels i got to replace rusted out factory floor- thanks so much to Derek at Hank's Auto Wreckers, your the man!
Some of the stuff I have waiting to be installed in the spring- Sony speakers, 3 gauge cluster, and new emblems

Two dealer style brochures I have for the 1970 El Camino
Thanks to:
My brother Mike,
My Dad,
Everyone at Hanks Auto Wreckers (best service and coolest guys ever),
Hergotts Shop (use of tools and supplies),
my friends who have helped me build at different times,
and everyone on Car Domain for hints, tips and suggestion, thanks everyone!

This is me at my buddies place, lol, this is a bit of an older pic, but yeah i'm young, turning 17 in may lol
