rugger327's 1991 Mazda MiataThis is my '91 Miata in a stripped state. I have had the car for three years. I picked it up while pursuing a purchase of a stand up freezer for $50 from Craigslist. I asked the guy if he had any other smoking deals and he told me about the Miata that was in his garage. I figured that he would want too much, but I asked how much anyway. He answered and I was off to the bank to get the $700. The car had 180K miles, but still ran well with a little smoke. I ran it until 230K miles and it was smoking badly. I've sold the engine, transmission, and rear end to fund the project. She'll be getting a 400hp SB Chevy 327, Muncie 4speed and Ford 7.5 limited slip differential.

rugger327's 1991 Mazda MiataI knew that I was going to do the V8 swap in my car, but I did not know how it all was going to come together. It ended up that a friend had a 327 in his '69 Camaro that had eaten a cam, and as a result had ruined all the bearings in the engine. He decided to go with a crate motor to replace the 327, and gave me the bottom end of the motor. I helped him pull the motor and by the end of the day we had worked out a deal for the entire engine including the Edelbrock aluminum heads, intake and carburetor. All I had to do was rebuild it, and I hoped that the crank had not been damaged by the cam carnage. I just had the crank polished, replaced all the bearings, reassembled the motor, and put an old school Isky solid lifter cam in it.

rugger327's 1991 Mazda MiataI landed on the 7.5" Ford independent limited slip diff for my rear end. Due to time constraints I chose Martin's setup.....hub to hub. It was a very easy installation, and I was very impressed with the fit. He is extremely easy to work with and stands by his products. Check out his site if you get a chance: http://www.monstermiata.com/
