Mods, Phase 1

So here's the first set of mods I started:

The first thing I did was the ever so popular dash paint. I decided I wanted black and blue so I got a metallic blue paint from the Autozone here and went to town on the dash. It's a work in progress and more pics are to come but here's the first phase.

First time around, I was very unsure and the paint clumped on the left side of the trim for the Speedo.. This is okay because it didnt turn out too bad and I got the hang of it quickly. So I painted that part, and I painted the area around the stock buttons in the center of the dash a little while later.

I removed the vents that were there before painting so the black on blue look really flows with the color scheme I want.

After I finished this I decided I was tired of guessing when to shift. I went to the store and bought a $40 2" Sunfire tachometer and quickly called my buddies to help install it. We ran the wires through the left side of the dash, and there's a panel you can remove and we tucked the wires through there. We ran them to the back of the fuse board, and the correct wire through the firewall at the same place as the accelerator cable and ran it to the distributer. I found this easier than connecting to the speedo cable because I couldn't get the cable released from the cluster to add it.

Next I added custom pedals, a new gear shift knob, and a shift boot. I've recently removed the boot and put the original back in. I might get a new boot later. No pics of all these right now but you can see the pedals in the pic I have for lighting on page 4.

Next phase was a little more extreme.

Your Aspire is really coming along great! I really like your dash set-up! And thanks for the compliment on my Aspire too!
