This is my 1972 AMC Matador.
It's a 2-Door, 304 V8, 3spd Auto, column shift, with bench seats. It has 63,000 original miles.

History of the car...

It was built in Kenosha, WI at the AMC plant in 1972. According to the VIN it was the 4427th 1972 Matador Built. From there it was shipped to an AMC Dealership in Toronto, Ontario. It was brought new by a elderly woman in Toronto. She never put too many miles on the car, it was then traded in at a used car dealership in 1984. It was brought by another woman in Toronto who drove it daily. She sold it to an elderly man in 1986 who did not drive much. In 1995 another man purchased the car oiled it and stored it in a barn near Orono, Ontario. It sat there in that barn until 2005 when a guy with hopes of restoring it got it and stored it in his garage for 3 years. He came across a 1966 Chevy Impala Convertile so he put the dusty Matador up for sale. A few men called but never ended showing up to look at it, so I drove 50 miles to look at her. There she sat with her rustic beauty. At the time I had a 1975 Monte Carlo that needed a paint job but only had 35,000 original miles. We settled on a straight trade.  Now its all mine.

I snapped these photos the day I went to look at the car, and trailered it home 50 miles the next day.

End of January 2008
It was a nice sunny day and it wasn't snowing so I rolled the car out of the garage and snapped a few more photos. Note: The 1955 Oldsmobile 88 Sedan is my fathers project car.
