This car is a replica of the Peter Brock designed GT Coupe built on a Shelby Cobra roadster frame. The car, a Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe (6 of them) went on to win the FIA GT class from Ferrari in 1965.
A shot of the Coupe hood open and the left front wheel well clecoed in place. The engine is a Ford Racing 302 with GT 40 heads and a long legged cam.
The Daytona Coupe mechanically is finished and gone to prep and paint. When finished the car should be a somewhat faithful (except for the wheels and tires) tribute to the 1965 FIA GT world champion.
When painted it should look something like...............................................................this.
The Coupe is in paint the wheel well are in place and under the hood is cleaned up.
The Coupe is done! We finished it in time for the local spring car show.
After the show we took the Coupe home and are starting finishing some of the trim detail that still needs to be done.
As the Coupe is now and might have been in the day.
