This is my 1991 Ford Escort LX! This has a swapped Mazda BP (1.8L DOHC) Engine with a Mazda Protege five speed transmission. Most of the swap is finished, I just have to finish up the rest of the car. And, of course, go back and fix any of the kinks I may have missed. (Or caused) I want to finish it THIS MONTH so I can participate in the 43rd Annual EESCC IceBreaker Autocross, thats Sunday, March 1st at Valley River Center in Eugene. This Escort has run in Autocross before, but that was when it still had Ford's 1.9L and an automatic transmission... So I can't wait to see how does now!
At this time, I have only a few things I need to finish to get this car back on the road.
- Rebuild all four brake calipers, get new (drilled/slotted) rotors, and get the rear disc E-brake cables from another car, and install with new SS brake lines.
- Install the complete Pacesetter Exhuast system, when the other half gets here...
- Install a new clutch slave cylinder, hard lines, and SS lines.
- Get S/R Struts, and install them with the Dropzone coilovers.
- Get new Tie Rod Ends.
- Get a MAF, and an intake system (CAI or Stock).
- Get a shift nob, and boot.
- Get New Vanity Plates!!!
