I have a buick (same year and engine) Some tips are to find a scrap yard and pull heads from another 3.3 and find someone who can port and polish them for really cheap. There are also a few places that can make custom headers for that engine, along with a twin turbo setup but I haven't found strengthened rods or pistons. Try finding an engine that has about the same size in rods (possibly a turbocharged 3.8 out of an old regal) or swap that whole setup. Also, remove that grill emblem on the front for a cleaner look. Another thing is that they used alot (ALOT) of sound deadener in the car, like under the rear seats, the trunk and under the hood, I pulled probably a good 50-75 pounds of that junk out, its not much but it made a little difference (and it made the exhaust sound nicer on the inside as well) Also for the engine. The 3.3 already has hydraulic roller lifters so thats a plus. Just add a little beefier cam and rocker arms with a longer reach than the stock ones. And if you want to go all out, get rid of the AC system (you can sell the R-12 thats in there if its still good cause that stuffs like $80 a pound) and the heating system. Thats all can think of right now. I don't have any pics of my skylark up but I know they are fast, I kept up (didn't beat) a Mustang GT. but my car isn't stock either. I hope your project moves along well.
