October 2007
I bought the Caddy from an enthusiast in Johannesburg. Although the car is a fairly completely converted example of what can be achieved, I still feel that I can give it my personal touch. Most that was done I would have done myself anyway, difference being that I saved myself a lot of time and money buying her as is...The owner really loved her and it is easy to see.
My dad would have gone wild over her, she really hauls a$$! I already have a few additions planned, so watch this space...
November 2007
I played around a little on dubmodder.com and came up with the following:
Old School, same colour:
Not so Old School, same colour:
Problems I foresee with any variety of Old School is first of all there is no space to relocate the existing external oil cooler to. It currently sits behind the Mk2 front bumper. The second problem is going to be traction. Although she is only boosting 0.7Bar (10Psi) currently, traction is already a problem with the 205/40/17's...
I did my first upgrade to Whitewash today by fitting a lower strut brace. I borrowed one from a friend and made one up out of pipe and plate I had at work. I have not yet had a drive with her to feel if there is any difference, but I am 100% sure it is one of the first things one should do to any Mk1.

I also drained the oil, changed the filter and put some Mobil 1 goodness into her vanes.
It is my birthday in the beginning of December and I am expecting quite a few items to add to her to dress her up some more, so watch this space...
January 2008
As I said; it was my B-day last month and I got some goodies for presents:
It includes crystal headlights, indicator lenses and semi-clear tail lights.
I fitted them and went for some photos at our railway station:
My plans for the near future includes deleting the exhaust tailpiece and the stupid plastic dummy louvres behind the doors. On the performance side I am planning to raise the boost to 1 Bar (15Psi) and the rev limit to 7500rpm. The boost will need a remap and I'm going to fit some ARP Big-end bolts to the conrods for the higher rev limit. I will then also post the new power figures, hoping for it to be close to 300whp. I have not been able to find any specs on my turbo, so i hope it can flow it...
