Still a work in progress. Originally an Iron Duke 4cyl 4spd, posi 10bolt with 3.73s in it from the factory. I had to blow it up in order for the wife to let me put a small block in it. It was her car she used in college. So I proceeded with my plan. A 440hp n/a SBC and 4spd, few suspension mods and drag radials. After just a few hundred miles I discovered all the factory spot welds in the rear suspension load points were all broken. Not to mention the Saginaw 4 didn't play nicely with the new power. That's when I decided it needed lots of stiffening and a new drive train. Besides it wasn't fast enough. Seemed like everyone had 400hp cars. I did however manage 156mph out of it with this combo on I-384 with the tops off and the windows down in the middle of a Wednesday afternoon. Ran out of gear quickly. Pulled strong all the way to 7k in top gear. Pretty loud going under the bridges at that speed.

I haven't driven it yet with the current set up. I have fired it up. Still need to tune the sequential F.A.S.T XFI. It is open headers right now so the neighbors aren't really diggn the 3.5" collectors. When I get more time I'll post more details and video.

Some of the basics: Most of the intake trac, fuel rails and V covers have been coated by NE coatings in EastHartford, ATI F1 Procharger, ATI Intercooler, Accufab 90mm TB, Wilson Elbow, Ebelbrock EFI Victor M manifold, 72lb injectors, AFR Heads, 355ci w forged guts and a motor plate, CC roller cam, McLeod Street Twin clutch w aluminum flywheel, Aluminum Drive shaft, McLeod hydraulics, Lakewood BH, Tremec "aftermarket" T-56, Pro 5.0, Spohn rod end torque arm, Moser 9" w 3:89 gears. Aeromotive fuel system. MSD ignition, Front end is all PA racing chromoly with 450lb coilovers and heim joints. Rear is controlled with the same except made by Herb Adams and 175lb coils, Headers are custom stainless steel units built by Lemons Headers in CA, Cage was build by me. Complete w halo bar, through the firewall and with swing out door bars. Brakes are Wilwood,Wilwood 2 piece Rotors, Corvette/Bear 2 piece rotors, Hydroboost, Wilwood master. Bell-tech spindles,

For those wondering this is not a full on race car or a drag car. The point of the project was to have a car that looks relatively stock for the most part and can handle, accelerate and brake better than a lot of rides out there. And the best part is I built it how I wanted to build it.

Things still to do:
Lexan Windows, Install Sparcos and Belts, Run Brake lines, Finish Exhaust, One piece fiberglass front end. Install driver/passenger floor, Fit dash cluster to cage, Paint,

astounding... im actually a bit north of you. and drive right trough CT heading to FL every chance i get... there any way we could meet for a walk around? my 2000 t/a was recently stolen and im looking at an 82 firebird as a new project, ive already got my own ideas, but even a chat about trouble spots would probably turn out to be a great benifit. thanks, Paul
