Heres another off the wall example of boredom and " what if's " ha ha ha ....
its a 98 grand am gt(obviously) and anyone who has owned one knows they are slow as hell, but look like they should go somewhere, GM's humor and kicks, "design a car that looks quick but isn't"
well at least its a good starting point...
The car started off with its 3100 and shity intake gaskets, which failed and my friends mothers boyfriend has a friend that is a " machanic " who says.." the heads are blown..see the water/coolant in the oil ???"
well my friend belived him and they quickly set out to change the heads, which weren't the problem and now the fun has started ...
they milled the heads..bought the gaskets and...nothing.
no compression, ha ha ha
the " machanic " didn't adjust for the milled head and the valves hung open.....lol
So my friend calls me and asks if I can help ( should of done that in the first place ) and I did... ha ha ha.
Since his lower end had alot of mile's on it ...
He purchased a bore and stroke kit from ARI, ( which has a 3.1 liter crank to repcale the wasted one, and some high compression 40 over piston's )
He had some old ported heads (93 3.1 olds silouette heads) and had me make an intake(92 firebird 3.4 with a 3.1 flange for his grand am throttle body) to fit the iron heads.
Then I made headers, relocated the coil packs which are accell now, 11mm moroso wires, fiero feul rail, corvette tpi adjustable regulator, moved the alt to where the "air compressor" used to be, custom idler pulley, walboro pump, relocated the battery, moroso coolant filler in upper hose (removed the stock expansion tank for the coil packs) and a few other assorted mods and ...PRESTO !!!
The 3" custom exhaust and camaro flow master fit quite well and make it sound really beafy...ha ha !
It also has roller rockers, roller cam and a high volume oil pump as well as 24lb injectors.
All good thing's must come to an end .....
This car has been sold, thats what happens when you are expecting a kid...... good luck jim and kate... : )
stock wheels... 17 konigs
the engine....
