A Volkswagen Type 181 "Thing" is one of my dream cars. I am restoring it and it still remains a "work-in-progress." I plan to turn it into a fully restored car and maybe even a daily driver, I'll never let this car go!

The car is actually a '73 and a '74 put together.

It's a little rough in some spots with "cancer" (rust) and other problems but it is solid and pretty dependable.

It get's a lot of attention everywhere it goes- people stare, look, laugh, point, and do a lot of crazy things- no pun intended.

Future plans are to keep working on it and take it with me when I am out of college.

It actually has decent off-road capabilities and it a blast to drive on back country roads.

Running the 1600c.c. engine with 55 horsepower and 72 ft.-lbs. torque. Not exactly a racecar but it moves.

Nice project car. Enjoy restoring it. Check out my 1958 Chevy Wagon sometime.
