1984 Cutlass Calais
This car is all original except the rims and tires. It came from a junk yard and is my project car for the rest of my naturally born life...

Olds 307 cubic inch engineThis motor, when i bought it, had gotten moisture in it and had rusted push rods, lifters, cam shaft, and cylinders. I overhauled it but had to replace the cam and the pistons.

I was on my way home yesterday (thursday, dec. 20, 07) and i hit an ice patch goin 55-60 mph (the speed limit) and the rearend broke loose causing the car to go sideways, i did everything to correct it that i could but there was absolutely nothing i could do before it went sideways into a dug out ditch that construction workers were workin on and rolled in the air almost clearing the ditch (around 20-30 yards long) but the the rear end caught the end of the ditch and turned the car around in air and it eventually landed on its roof. The right rear tire actually broke through the truck and through the back seat of the car which u can see in the pictures below. both t-tops flew off while it was rolling and i went with em. i landed about 3 feet from the car in the dirrection it was rolling so im pretty lucky it didnt roll again, im also pretty lucky i didnt land on the metal rods stickin out of the ground that were marking underground pipes. i walked away and was only sore for a week or so and now only have some upper rib pains that just wont go away...the car is totalled but i can save the motor and tranny, the only things i really put money into so far. but i ended up buying my monte exactly a month after i rolled the cutlass.
