I bought this little jewel right before it was time to start replacing things. The past two years have been a roller coaster of making major repairs and also building it up to be something respectable. With my income this was no easy task, but I've never looked back and regretted buying this truck. I've owned three different Explorers in four years of having a license - one from each generation. Regardless, these are the last capable Explorers and the last of a dead breed of good sport utility vehicles.

hey I forgot to answer your shock question....I did not have to get new shocks. With a body lift all your doing is lifting the body off the frame. it doesnt effect the suspension or any other components one bit.

haha thats alright. yeah installed everything myself. the performance accessories pa 883 lift kit comes with everything you need. the steering colum you don't mess with other than the steering extension that comes in the kit which is very easy to install and you can reach it from under the hood. i didn't get new brake lines either. you just un-clip them from some clips on the driver side front shock mount so they don't bind or bend. and the bumper brackets are also supplied in the kit. the front one works perfectly but the rear ones i had to turn upside down and switch sides and got them to work. the whole job took me about 14 hours. there is a BUNCH of information on explorerforum.com about the lift and how to do it.
