UPDATE - POLL RESULTS:

10/29/05 Ended my second poll on whether I should keep the wing or not. This latest poll didn't garner as many votes as my original poll, which had over 2,500 votes, but the results were about the same. Out of 339 votes, 227 said to keep the wing.

Outside of Car Domain, I get the same reaction. When I take the Pantera to car shows, even the seasoned muscle car gearheads tell me the same thing: "KEEP THE WING" Personally, I could go either way, so I've decided to keep it on for the moment. The good thing is, eight bolts is all that stands between going wingless again. :)

My next poll will have something related to engine options.

10/29/04 This is my second poll on whether I should keep the rear delta-wing or remove it. Many folks say it ruins the lines of the car, but others say the wing was a factory option in later years and looks good on the car even if its aerodynamic benefits are debatable.

My first wing poll had close to 2,500 responses and over 81% (2,076 car lovers) said I should KEEP the wing. But in all fairness, I did not have a pic of the car without the wing. Now I do, so I've re-introduced the poll to hopefully get a non-biased result.

This poll is intended to just have some fun with a question that's predominantly raised fiery opinions against having a wing on a Pantera. Plus we could all use at least one more poll in our lives! :)

Thanks for participating!

Extremely light, factory aluminum wing..not fibreglass as seen on most conversions and Amerisport Panteras. The factory wing is two pieces of hand formed aluminum. Unfortunately the two pieces were not joined correctly at the factory. The result, as you see in the picture, is they start to split apart. Bad..because your paint is ruined..but good..because contrary to popular belief..there is downforce created by these wings as evidenced by the crack in my paint. In the meantime, I've welded the two aluminum pieces together and repainted the wing...so this shouldn't happen again.

For now...the wing stays....and depending on my Pantera mood, it also comes off.
I fabricated a cover for the decklid holes. It cleans up the area nicely when the wing is not in use.
I'll post pics later.

Just like you...I love having choices!! :-)
