detomasopantera's 1971 DeTomaso Pantera

- Originally registered in Italy as a '73 GTS then sold to a French citizen in 1985. I'm the third owner.
- This European Pantera was converted to widebody GT-5 exterior and interior specs by the deTomaso factory. Original USA 71-74 Panteras had narrow, unflared bodies.
- Leather interior with burlwood inserts, Euro gauges with 300 km/hr speedo, Hall Pantera sound bar (no speaker holes anywhere).
- In order to save weight, the A/C and heat have been removed.
- BF Torino seats with supportive side bolsters. Momo steering wheel.
- Spicer halfshafts, Koni shocks, GT-5 springs, new ball joints
- TRW racing steering rack with new tie rods; bump steering kit
- PPC forged axles; factory vented GT-3 rotors
- Collector's Choice fully shrouded, lay-down SS radiator
- PPC solid one inch chrome rear swaybar
- Factory Ansa GTS (2.5 inch) exhaust system replaced with stainless steel replica
- Side gas cap conversion; three inch flush aircraft style gas cap
- Billet wheels are replicas of the original GT-5 wheels. An upgrade of neccessity since 15 inch tires are almost non-existant in the 285/40 (front) and 345/35 (rear) sizes. If you search hard enough, one can probably find these tires, but the prices are usually pretty obscene.
- Factory Aluminum delta-wing is very light
- Received a set of of stock GT-5 calipers from the previous owner, but I've decided not to install them since they're extremely heavy. Eventually I'll upgrade to light Wilwood calipers. Currently, I'm using the stock brake setup with Porterfield pads which work fine for street use.
- The Pantera uses a 5-speed German ZF transaxle with chrome gated shifter.
- Fully independent suspension which, like the car itself, was ahead of it's time.
