K&N AIR FILTER
After reading a ton of reviews on this thing, I figured it wouldn't hurt to try it. It's messed up some people's oxygen sensor, but I haven't had trouble with it on any other car nor this one.

zoomie888's 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-ClassTime to change the air filter. Step 1: Open the hood. If you're having trouble finding the lever, open the driver side and look under the steering wheel area. It's a red lever. Pull that.

zoomie888's 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-ClassExisting stock cotton air filter in place. Step 2: Grab a torque wrench and remove the 6 screws holding the panel covering the yellow filter.

zoomie888's 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-ClassSide-by-side comparison of the two filters. The look fairly similar huh? Get ready b/c the new one's gunna be a snug fit!

zoomie888's 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-ClassFilter in place...sort of! If you look closely, it's just resting in place. It takes a bit of tugging to get it to fit right. Place the back side (fat side on the side where the air is getting pulled in from) in first. Push the "top" part of the K&N filter to get it to fit. It will be snug....really snug. Try not to bend the filter like I did.

zoomie888's 2005 Mercedes-Benz C-ClassDon't force the fitment. It should fit snug but not way tight. If it's way tight, try another method of getting it to fit.

REVIEW:
After starting the car, the engine did not sound any different from what I can tell. The idle was not loud at all. There seemed to be no difference which is good. The throttle response however DID change. It seemed to respond slightly quicker. There used to be a delay especially when reversing. The car now moves backwards without hesitation.

I'm in the middle of calculating differences in gas mileage.
Stock air filter: 24mpg combined freeway and street driving.
K&N air filter: 25mpg. If you need more information on the installation, take a look here

Very nicely done, i love all that you did to your car. That last touch(the C32 rims) was great and it looks sick. Keep up the great work and do your thing...
