Got the Rockwells with all new parts, bearings, seals, u-joints, Pinion brake set up and all!!!!Check out the last page for pics.

I also came up with a Dana 60high pinion kingpin axle. I might sell it for $$ for the Rockwell swap.

I bought 2 44in boggers and 2 44in TSl's, used but still OK.

NEW NAME "Bronco 2.5" or "Bronco 2-1/2"

For the 2.5 ton Rockwells and it is already half new from the roll over.

If I can find a cheap Explorer, I am going to narrow the dana-44 and use it for the exploder. Lift it a little and run some 31's or 33's.

This all started when I was 16. I had a 1985 Ranger, 4 cylinder, 5 speed. It was a turd....  Ever since, I have wanted a V-8 ranger,( I have had 4 other Rangers since! ! ).  After getting Married, and having two kids, I decided on a Bronco II instead. More room for kids and such.

I love Southwest Colorado, Silverton, Ouray, South Fork, Creed area, I wanted a rig to go play on those old mining roads with, something mild.

In late summer of 2006, I bought a 1989 BII, ($300), trans was toast. I was just going to get a transmission, and fix it up a little....... Well, one day I stumbled across a running 1986 Crown Vic for $200, there was my V8 ! !  I traded ALL the BII running gear for a C-6 and a 31 Spline 9 Inch.  The Dana 44 and NP205 came from a friend who had a 1978 F150 that caught on fire and burnt to the ground, He gave me the truck for free ! ! ! !

Around Oct '06

So here I am with a BIG pile of parts, and one Bronco II.  After allot of nights on BroncoII.org, therangerstation.com, and other sites, I had a plan....  I ordered 5:43 gears because the 205 is pretty high geared t-case, Lockers, and 37in Boggers and wheels. I started by rebuilding the Dana 44, everything new. I moved on to the 9in, same thing, all new parts. I figured I might as well look at the 5.0, and I am glad I did. When I took off the valve covers, you couldn't hardly see the rocker arms from the sludge. I pulled the intake, you couldn't see the lifter holder down thingy, the sludge was over 1/2in deep!!!! So I put everything on hold till I got the engine rebuild. I go lucky, and it didn't need bored, just honed and re-ringed it.

Around February '07

After that I got the engine, trans, and t-case in before I worried about axles. That was surprisingly easy, just time consuming. I used Mustang GT mounts, and had to modify the crap out of them, but it worked.  I moved the stock trans crossmember back about 3 inches, I think...  I bought a f-150 trans mount and cut out the center of the crossmember. I welded in a new piece and drilled holes to fit the new trans mount.

Around March '07

I started with the rear axle, since it was kinda strait forward, and I could use it to triangulate in the front.  I found out I could do rear disk brakes CHEAP, so I went for that while I had it kinda apart. I bought weld on caliper brackets, (that didn't work, but I made some that did), 3/4 ton Chevy calipers, and Dana 44 front rotors. I had the rotors redrilled so that fit the studs snuggly. For the E-Bake I used a manual hyd lock. I also removed the Factory Proportioning valve and replaced it with a manual adjustable one.

I am tired of typing so more later......
