This is my 1978 Leyland Mini Clubman. Mostly standard (unmolested) it features a canary yellow paint with a custom paintjob. This car is not only a pleasure to drive, it is also a real head-turner.

The Custom paintjob features cartoon Mr Bean holding "Humpty(the cars name)". Humpty in turn is giving Teddy the finger.

The car is mostly standard. It is regularily serviced and taken well care of. It rides on a set of little 10inch wheels,
and combined with the stance and the suspension give it a real Go-Kart feeling, especially around corners.

The Mini is a proven winner on the track winning the Monte Carlo rally 5 times. The Mini also holds a record in the Bathurst 1000 (usually a V8 competition). In 1966 it took out the first 9 places beating all the fords and holdens- This has not been repeated since.

The mini is extremely fuel efficent, partly because of its 4cyl 998cc engine and partly because of brilliant engineering. It does around 5.5L-6.0L per 100km. Admittedly performance isnt this mini's strong point, but it makes this up in the cuteness department.

The Car has had a fresh respray courtesy of me, my first ever job (aint bad for 16). Custom artwork done by a friend- we turned this car into a real eyecatcher.

I hope you enjoy my car as much as I do.

Cheers,
Dennis

Hey Dennis

Nice Min'. Thanks for your comments about my Minivan. My first car was a Mini when I was 16 in NZ. Rusty 72 1100 Clubman & I loved it. Once Minis get into your blood you can't get them out. I've owned a few since then but really just cheap reliable transport. The Minivan is the latest & at least to me is something special. I plan to keep it as a permanent part of my small collection. There are various ways to improve performance without going too radical. A good Camshaft, cylinder head work, exhaust system & carburation give very satisfying results. My Minvan has a 1275 A+ that is still perfectly happy going to buy groceries or cruising down the highway but when you open her up it is hell fast. The adjustable height suspension, Spax shocks, wheel/tyre & brakes combo on the van are also in my opinion well worth the investment improving the already great handling capabilities of minis.
