Previous Cars I've Owned
Page added: 27-Apr-2005
My first car was a 1969 Chevelle Malibu. Although I have no picture of that car, I'll try to post a reasonable facsimile. That car was a hand-me-down from my dad. He gave it to me for good reason. With a wheezy 307 engine and over 200K miles on the clock, I spent more time under the hood of it than behind the wheel. But I learned a lot about cars with that one and for a set of high school wheels, it wasn't all bad.

For now, this picture will suffice. Mine was frost green in color, but did not have the vinyl roof, the SS badging, stripes or hood. It featured poverty caps, a bench seat and column shift, besides the aforementioned 307.
After dad died, I sold the Malibu and began driving his "new" car - a 1975 Plymouth Scamp. Here's all I have from that car, which saw me through my college days. I added all kinds of crazy stuff to that car, including an FM converter (it only came with AM), a CB, 8-track and two handheld, hardwired spotlights. Eventually, the radio was replaced with an AM/FM/Cassette unit from Sanyo, if I recall correctly.

After personally putting 184K miles on it (and the odo reading 197.5K), it was time for me to pick a car of my own choosing: a 1982 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme.

Is this Deja-Vu all over again or what??

Here's the '83 Grand Prix again, after I made a few mods: Power sunroof, Limo-tint, Crager SS mags and BFG T/A radials:
