The pictures above show how she looks now, but below is how she looked when I first bought her and shows how the car changed through time to become what she is now.....

As the car started..... "Ebony" is a 1997, 2.5 24v V6 Ford Probe. Here is a picture the day after i bought her (still totally standard, as she would have rolled out of the factory 9 years before - except for the private numberplate)

I have owned her since 23/03/05. I wrote off my first Probe (a 16v) and so when it came to replacing the car, i knew the only car to replace it was another Probe. Since I have owned the car, I have been slowly modifying the car (mostly cosmetically) and I am very close to being finished. When I had my 16v, I had a clear picture in my head of how I eventually wanted my Probe to look and I have nearly done it with my 24v. Following are some pictures to show how the car has progressed over the last 2 and a half years. There have been several other modifications to the car such as CAI, a short shift and several electrical mods but for now I will cover just the cosmetic mods..... Here are a couple of photos from my first outing with a camera, (the third day of owning her). Note I have already switched the factory driving lamps for aftermarket quad oval lamps. Below is the only photo of my car with the original tail lamps, sadly the photo isnt too clear

It wasnt too long before I decided to tint the rear lamps (as I had with my 16v), but this time I decided to be a little more inventive with it, and made a custom centre panel. As you can see, the GT lettering would reflect pretty well in the correct light. I had also had my powerflow stainless back box from my 16v, modified to fit my new car.

Next came my carbon-fibre rear window spoiler, as can be seen in this picture.

The next mod was a very quick and easy mod, but also one which radically changed the whole look of my car. My 17" Wolfrace Katana alloys. Note also, the cut-down numberplates which now show off the shape of the front bumper and also make the car look wider.

Now that I had the wheels, there was no stopping me. I had a new spoiler ordered and while I was waiting for that, I managed to get hold of some European rear light clusters which I modified and personalised as can be seen here. Both the spoiler and rear lights were fitted at the same time and completely transformed the rear end. Also note the US headlamp covers fitted at this time. The US covers are longer, reach the front bumper edge and do away with the plastic fillets fitted to UK cars.

Now the car was really starting to take shape, but was screaming out to be lowered. A set of Lesjofor springs sorted that out very nicely for me. I had also fitted the single wiper mod to the car by now.

Next came a front bib and a bonnet vent (which are both still WIP at the moment) but as you can see the car is well on its way. This, at the moment is how the car currently looks but Im working on the next mod(s) and photos will be up soon of these when they are (semi)completed.

GETTING READY FOR THE RESPRAY..... OK, the respray is set for May 31st, so I have been desperately trying to get all what needs done, done by then. Following are a few pics of the car as it is progressing toward respray date. Its looking really sorry for itself, but hopefully it will all come good in a couple of weeks time.   I experienced big problems with the new rear bumper getting here on time so the respray had to be delayed, but it eventually turned up and I had to fit it on the friday night, to be sprayed the following morning. Here is the new rear bumper fitted

THE RESPRAY (8 June 2008).... The day finally arrived (or rather the rear bumper did) LOL Following is a selection of pics of the car being prepped and sprayed.....

As you can see, I had trouble removing the passenger front wheel as the security locking nut was impossible to remove, so this wheel was sprayed on the car. Otherwise the car was painted, standing on some standard early 24v Probe wheels.

On the day that my car was resprayed, another Probe owner had his car re-laquered. Here it is sitting next to mine

The following day, i re-fitted my Wolfrace Katanas...

Unable to clean the car properly due to fresh paint, I couldnt pass up the opportunity to photograph the car as the sun was shining so brightly within the next couple of days. Please forgive the dirt and dust on the car and also, the grey tyres which badly needed blacking up....

Unfortunately in the sun that day, I noticed that the primer was visible through the black paint, so I booked it in again for another couple of coats of black (the following weekend). This time, the guy went overboard with laquer and the thing shines like you wouldnt believe LOL. I have taken a few piccies but they are only carpark shots. I havent been out on a "shoot" yet since its 'top-up' and probably wont until she gets a good clean and polish. Here are a couple of pictures from the day after the top-up and 150 miles on the road.....
