She started life as a 72 challenger rallye, petty blue exterior, black vinyl top, blue interior, carpet, headliner and dash.
After I bought her, I had power disc brakes installed, a classic air a/c system, electric windows, go wing spoiler, cd player and a brand new nos chromed out 8 track player.
She started developing some bubbles on the lower end of both rear quarters, as e bodies are prone to do.
I waited 2 years for an appointment at "cruisers", a shop in so fla that specializes in classic muscle cars. They did the previous installations of the mods I mentioned earlier.
Well one thing led to another, the car was repainted plum crazy purple, the black vinyl top was taken off and a new white vinyl top was installed. The blue carpet was replaced with new black carpet, the blue headliner and sunvisors were replaced with new white ones.
New white seatcovers and door panels were installed. A new black package tray, new wide chrome rocker panel mouldings, new chrome door sills etc.
The engine was rebuilt and painted from blue to hemi orange.
PLUS, one of my favorite items- I got ahold of a NOS 3 piece set of wide chrome moldings for the front of the hood that were a special option for spring of 1971 and are not reproduced anywhere. Boy did they cost me. The bumpers where rechromed.
I had the 2 side rallye flairs and strobe decals removed and replaced with a white 70 r/t full stripe and a white r/t stencil for the hood.
I can't believe I own this car.
