I bought this car last week. its an '86 chevy camaro auto transmission . I only paid $525 for it and it came AS IS. But it runs... ROUGH. I already know that the head gaskets are blown. and the engine revs high. So it can be a number of things that can cause that. It will redline if you step on the gas. And it fails to shift into 4 gear.
My first step is to do regular maint on the car then I will change the gasket and the air intake system. Since I have an automatic more than likely I will have install a new 4 speed automatic transmission.
I will post pictures as soon as I get a change. I wont do anybody work till the car is up and running.

Update: 10-18-2007
No progress have been made. The car still revs high in 3rd and refuses to shift into 4th gear.
I found out more specs about the car. it has the 5.0 L 305 LG4 V8 and the 700R4 transmission. Since I worked with GM cars before I think I found out what might be the problem with my tranny. It might be the TV Cable linkage that need to be tuned. I will check it out this weekend. Heres is what the engine looks like.

Lots of oil by the valve gaskets and headers. So yeah I have a lot of work cut out for me.
Update: 10/27/2007
Okay, the Camaro die on me today. Right in fornt of an auto shop. They were literally useless so i had to tow it to the hobby shop. Luckily I found a guy @ V Towing that gave me a great rate. You guys should call him if your ride dies on you!
So Tuesday I will finally get to work on it.. This time I don't have a choice.
Then Engine turns and with will even start up. But once it get to around 600 rpm it dies. So I looked at the head and their is oil all over it. So first I will check my battery and then the Carb and I will change the Gaskets. While I'm at it, I will try to adjust my T.V. Cable linkage..
Just bought some new hood struts. about $20 each and the head gaskets. Here we go!
