Hello All...I just came accross this site...being a hardcore car guy I don't know how I missed it. LOL

Anyway Here is my dream car, 1968 Chrysler T/C wagon.

I had always wanted a mopar wagon, but didn't really know what body or style I wanted. One night I was surfing the web and came accross a 68 Chrysler T/C wagon that a guy had slightly modified and at that point I knew I had found my dream car!!

So now the search went out to find a nice clean rust free 68 T/C wagon. I have done rusty cars and it's cheaper to spend more on a rust free car than pay someone to fix rusty metal...pay attention to that guys!!! lol

I really had only one major requirement when I began searching, RUST FREE. I knew I might get a car cheaper with no motor or tranny, since I have a donor car with good drivetrain. I eventually was contacted through one of my want ads and this guy had a 67,000 original mile 68 T/C wagon that was RUST FREE!!

The only catch was it had no drive train...no problem...so we talked, e-mailed pics, and eventually came to an agreement and I bought the car.

So now I finally get to the wagon history....To the best of my knowledge this is the cars history.

The car was bought new in Yakima Wa and was in the original owners posession up until the wife finally passed away somtime around 2001-2002? It was then passed to the/a son and he had no use for it so it went up on e-bay running and driving. It was bought by a fellow in Portland OR who drove it from Yakima to Portland and then pulled the original 440/auto for his Duster race car. It was then re-e-bayed and was bought by a guy who then brought it from Portland to Wyoming. It was this gentleman that I bought the car from in winter of 2005.

The car sat in Wyoming through the winter, at the seller OK, and he transported the car from Wyoming to Seattle WA were I picked it up and brought it across the Canada/USA border into Abbotsford BC in April of 2006. It then sat in a shop at my Dad's farm until just a couple months ago when I finally brought it home.

Now the original options and vision for the car...The car was ordered by the original owners and came equiped as follows, 1968 Chrysler T/C 6-passenger wagon, 440/4bbl-350HP, auto, dual exhaust, A/C, power drum brakes, power steering, 14 inch rims/tires, AM Radio, rear window washer system (Very rare), manual windows and locks, bench seat etc. Car is white with blue interior and originally had the faux woodgrain sides, now painted over.

My vision for the car is this....my donor car will give up it's 440/auto for the car and then I will be installing all new front and rear suspension components, 73 newport disc brakes, new booster and master cylinder, high flow manifolds will go on with custom 2 1/2 inch exhaust with dynomax super turbo mufflers. A new Sanden A/C compressor and engine A/C componets, as well as a secondary rear A/C unit to help cool the whole car. Also will be running a modern high amp alternator and high torque mini starter, and electric fans for cooling. A rebuilt thermoquad and intake will go on to replace the carter units. Also will be running a HEI style distributor, to get help cleanup the engine bay.

The interior will stay mostly stock for now, I will be installing a 200KPH speedo I got from a friend in Holland. The antenna will be changed for a power unit and I would like to shave the door handles and remove the side mirrors and go with a set of HotRod style mounted on the tops of the front windshield pillars. The biggest addition will be the removal of the stock grill and installing a headaway headlight grill from a 68 chrysler 300. All new woodgrain decals will go on for now but I would like to get woodgrain either painted or airbrushed on eventually. Then lowering the car about 2 inches and running 20x9 inch rims with 255/40/20's all around.

And that should do it for now....the car is still dirty and needs to be buffed, polished and cleaned but I will update as I work on the ol'girl.

Sorry about the long winded text....:)

I have stated many times, I am not stuck on any one brand of auto manufacturer and I think your MOPAR wagon is awsome. I don't think the auto designers of the 1960's designed too many ugly cars in that 10 year span. I remember when I was a kid, my parents had friends who had a 1964 Pontiac Sation Wagon ( I think it was a Catalina?)and I loved that car. I don't know why car designers after the 1960's forgot how to design a good looking station wagon but they sure did forget. I love MOPAR's, Fords and GM"S of the past. I have a 1980 Camaro that I plan to restore, mind you it is like you stated a rusty car but I did not have the heart to see it go to the scrap yard. My dream car though is a 1969 Dodge Charger or the 1970 Dodge Challenger but if I ever come across an old rust free wagon to wrench on Dodge, Ford or GM I would love to have one, those were multy purpose vehicles and you did it in style. 5 Stars.......

Sick wagon! Is it the same 440 that came in the 72 Polara? I know that's a monster of a motor. Wouldn't be my dream car but I'd be in love with it if it were mine too! 5*

Great car. Nice job on the disc brakes & the duals look good. Take a look at my 69 Monaco convertible when you get a chance. Please leave a comment & a rating is appreciated.
