Dayraven's 1965 Ford Econoline

Right now i'm in the process of tearing it down, sand blasting, doing body work, trying to get the engine running, and then making it road worthy.

I will add a page every weekend to show the progress I am making as i go along. I only have Friday nights and usually the weekend to work on the van unless I get lucky and get some random day off. Because of the fact that I'm in the army I'm very limited to what I can do in the maybe 2 days I have but she'll be coming along nicely.

My main plans are to:
-Remove any dings and rust, i.e. do any body work I possibly can myself
-Paint it flat black with the head light trim, grill, rear view mirror, gauge trim, part of the inner doors, the dog house, valve cover, thermostat cover, and part of fan painted red.
-Making the thing as clean as possible and not adding any extra weight that isn't necessary so that it will have more power and speed

I also have a list of things I would later down the line like to do maybe after I come back from Iraq.

The wish list includes:

-Installing A/C
-Installing Side pipes
-Changing the side doors to solid side doors (no windows)
-Installing Power Windows
-Installing Custom Gauges
-Shaving the door handles and installing poppers
-Switching the front doors to Suicide doors
-Rechroming some SS cragars
-Adding some older style econoline emblems to both front doors
-Getting a Peep mirror for the drivers side
-Installing a CD player in the glovebox and installing subs/speaker

If there's anything on my dream list I can pull off before I leave I'll do it and let ya'll know. Just follow as I go along.

Nice van. Looks straight inspite of its age and state. It's coming along slowly but nicely for you. Keep it up. Your flat black with red accents would look good on that one. Cheers!!!

Too nice! Don't know that I could tackle all that you are at once. Just getting ready to rip out my front interior, dash back to just under the front seats. One step at a time cause I'm using mine as my daily driver. Nice to see your's come along and please, stay up with the updates!
