I work in a body shop, so getting good free sheetmetal is no problem. Here is a decklid used for the inner rear wheel well repairs from a 2002 Honda Accord.

I'll let the photos speek for themselves at this point. It's all basicaly the cutting, removing the old rusty bits, then replacing with new sheet metal from Mini Mania.
Now lets get back to the trunk and lower rear valance.....
