Page 4 - Interior work and some more rust cleanup

Picture from the drivers seat just to see how much the 4 inch cowl will obstruct my view. Also my window was mysteriously cracked one day...hum.

The interior is actually cleaned up. I dont really like the grey carpet so in the future I will change it to black.

Ah more rust under the rear deck lid. After further investigation I find out that when the previous owner painted it and pulled the spoiler off he didnt put the rubber seals back on the hardware so water got it and now the deck lid is rusted beyond repair. Another dumb decision by the previous owner. So Im replacing the hole hatch glass and deck lid since the tint is going anyways. Looking to install a lid with the Z28 high rise spoiler to go with the 91-92 theme.

Ok let me explain this next picture. I hooked up everything that needed to be hooked up to run the car and was all excited for it to finally start after a year or so. Turn the key and get nothing at all. I did hot wire the starter since the VATs system is useless, so im just using the key to power the accesories and the push button start is hidden inside the car. So it does turn over fine. Anyways, it turns otu that Im not getting fuel because the fuel pump is bad. So theres option A: Be lazy and make a trap door in the rear to access the fuel pump, or option B: drop the rear end and pull the entire tank. Well I started with option B and then created option C: grab a hack saw and just cut the neck of the fuel tank. Since I intentionally destroyed old gas tank, Im just going to mount a 12 gallon fuel cell in the rear. This is a picture of the rear well where Im mounting the fuel cell.

Theres also a random plug underneath all the sound deadener which is a mystery to me, So Im just going to weld is shut.

This is a basic layout of the new fuel system I am running. Needed the fuel pressure regulator to lower the pressure for my carb setup.

Fuel cell in place but not mounted fully yet.

Theres my Mallory Pro Comp 140 series fuel pump. Running braided lines to the factory hard lines. Need to Por15 the entire undercoating

Wired the fuel pump differently than factory. I pulled out all of the old fuel pump wiring and ran 14 gauge wires. Ignition must be on and fuel pump switch must be on in order for the engine to receive fuel. This way I dont ahve to worry about leaving the fuel pump switch on when I turn the car off. Also take not that I put this stainless sheet metal in place of the factory HVAC controller. I pulled out the blower motor and AC unit and compressor since this car is mainly going to be a weekend warrior and driven during the summer(with the windows down and t tops out).I guess its a little weight reduction too.
