oldfart's 2002 Mazda Miata For front tinsel I used a Cadillac chrome wreath to cover the Miata logo holes and a Cobra insignia to carry the message of her Ford/Mazda/Land Rover Foster parents. Better the wreath than the $300 plus expenditure to do the body and paint work and fill the holes. It's kool.
oldfart's 2002 Mazda Miata I sanded the clear coated wheels with 220 grit wet or dry, masked and spray painted them with several coats of Plasticote enamel starting on the inside first. It took about 3 hours per wheel. Yah! I know some people don't like yellow, but take a look at this guy's car with yellow wheels! oldfart's 2002 Mazda Miata
The colors on my car are racing colors of Mercedes Benz. These wheels stand out at night like cat's eyes and since a silver car is the most dangerous car on the road because it can NOT be seen......it's a safety thing! Wait 'til it's done, it will surprise you.

Looks a little strong without the racing stripes on yet, but the overall impact will be well balanced and definitely draw some attention. It took a little over one large spray can per wheel and the gloss is teriffic. Two wheels look better than one. Four wheels and that's done.

An 8' length of 4" polished SS tubing, two Thrush glasspacks, a couple SS band clamps and Corvette turnouts. Cut to length and the rumble comes out here!
The racing stripes came in from Speed Graphics. They were real quick to respond. Here is the first stripe being layed out. Two colors will take a double application. The color match to the wheels is "perfect".
oldfart's 2002 Mazda MiataI added a front spoiler, Garage Vary 2001+ front aero lip spoiler, from Rspeed that looks very nice and should balance off the side pipes. It's a little wilder than the factory option, balances the side pipe offset, but doesn't detract from the beauty of the vehicle. I'm looking for the Cobra attitude with improved engineering and performance.
I just ordered a Harddog Hard Core stainless steel roll bar also from Rspeed.
This will continue the stainless theme of stainless side pipes and the SS flairs on the rear spoiler. Roll bars are an absolute necessity on this vehicle. Add one to yours!!

Fabulous and creative job with the Miata. I own a 2001 with comparatively modest mods (I don't have access to a lift nor the cajones to do major stuff yet!). Feel free to check it out if you like.

Great car, great execution on the swap! I'm a 215 fan from way back. I currently own a '62 Jetfire with 4 speed and a bunch of parts! Got a question: Where do you get a Rover Victor manifold? I visited the Edelbrock site and they didn't have it anywhere. Thanks and great car!
