oldfart's 2002 Mazda MiataThe 2002LS is a silver with a tan top and interior. The 300 M insignia is from the new Chrysler. The lower part of the 300 logo has a background that goes real well with the carbon fiber interior kit. We used to remove the door handles and all emblems, take off the chrome and lead in the holes. I'm amazed that I'd put this tinsel back on, but I like it now.
I designed and ordered my own custom double racing stripe with metallic silver to gold fade and dark yellow border from Speed Graphics. They did a really nice job.
oldfart's 2002 Mazda MiataThe TSW spoke aluminum wheels are being painted School Bus Yellow to match the stripes. These wheels were clamped up in the lathe and 3mm shaved off the offset to match factory specs. I also turned the inside of the wheels to remove 2.5# of extra wheel weight the car didn't need. I added Cragar chrome spinner caps to add a little sparkle. Also ordered some 40 profile Dunlop tires to pimp it out.

Here is a composite picture of a car that belongs to a friend who works for Ford. The engine here is a 1963 Buick 215 cu. in. aluminum engine. Rover bought that engine production from GM and have used it ever since. They made several new larger cu. in. aluminum motors and the parts are all interchangeable! It was this project that gave me the courage to tackle mine. Note that the installation allows the use of the stock factory hood, suspension, and you can easily access the sparkplugs. The key to creating the optimum car is to maintain the outstanding Miata suspension and weight distribution. A Racing Beat Miata still holds the record for the fastest car ever through the cones. Detroit take note! Add to that 185 more HP, a lotta V8 rumble, good roll-over protection, better brakes, and all you need is wings!

oldfart's 2002 Mazda MiataI have a set of three Rover hood scoops that I have reconformed to fit the Miata hood and an RX7 rear racing spoiler I'm fitting to the rear deck. It will be raised a couple inches and some stainless outrigger flairs will be added for asthetic balance.

oldfart's 2002 Mazda MiataThe Ford signage. I plan a four-bar stainless roll bar and have full length 4" polished stainless steel side pipes with Thrush glasspacks I'm installing now. The interior has a real carbon fiber dash kit and I'm going to dye parts of the leather interior charcoal to give it a little more life. I'm 60 years old, broke, unemployed and crippled up with a broken back, so you should have few excuses not to get involved with your dreams! If you watch the progress you may find some old hot rod tricks you may want to try on your new ride.

Fabulous and creative job with the Miata. I own a 2001 with comparatively modest mods (I don't have access to a lift nor the cajones to do major stuff yet!). Feel free to check it out if you like.

Great car, great execution on the swap! I'm a 215 fan from way back. I currently own a '62 Jetfire with 4 speed and a bunch of parts! Got a question: Where do you get a Rover Victor manifold? I visited the Edelbrock site and they didn't have it anywhere. Thanks and great car!
