GEARBOX
As the gearboxes are known to be the weak link when pushing big horsepower figures I managed to track down a second gearbox. Including shipping it cost me $120 and i got the driveshafts for free. I haven't pulled the back up apart as hopefully i'll never need it as the original was in good nick. We checked the gearbox and bearings that was in the car. The first bearing was shot and the car would rattle around when idling with the clutch out. This got to be quite annoying.
I finally went with a brass button 4 puk Exedy sportstuff clutch. It's quite hard to drive and will be hard on omponents but has plenty of grip. I won't be locking up the gearbox now as figure it's better to spina wheel than blow a gear box.
Have to see how it all holds up once it's going with the computer and bigger turbo.
