I recently purchased this 2 owner Studebaker with a bit of Bonneville history. According to the previous owner, the original owner bought this as a family car and later started 'playing' with it. He ran it a B'ville with a supercharged Stude engine. It has a Hawk GT dash filled with 2-5/8" Stewart Warner gauges, including 2 pressure gauges (0-10lbs), obviously used for boost readings.
My plans are to kustomize with a B'ville image. That would include a chopped top, frenched headlights, frenched 56 Buick tail lights, frenched lakes pipes, shaved bumpers and doors, hood, trunk. I also want to keep the Stude engine, but with a lot more power and a 5 or 6 speed trans behind it. Of course it will be slammed and run moon discs and wide whites.
It has some rust issues (probably from the salt of B'ville) but I've already got replacement sheet metal for that. I just need time to work on it, and to make some money to fund it. Working on that.
This is how it looked when I bought it.
This is a couple of weeks later. More changes now.
