One of my next projects is to finish the install of the sound system. I am using all Polk Audio MOMO series speakers. I have the head unit, door speakers and the rear deck speakers installed. I need to decide how I want to house the 12" MOMO sub. I want to build a subwoofer enclosure to mimic a 8 gallon racing fuel cell. The sub will be firing downward to where it won't be visible. Still undecided on that. Plus, I still need to do a amp rack and a few other thing. Some of my gear is old school things but were high end stuff back in the day(ADS PQ20, Sony XEC-1000 and a Audio Control ESP-3). The ADS I will use to run my Mids and highs. I have a Profile mono amp to run my sub.
I'm currently fighting some RF noise in my front only speakers. I have finally found the problem and will soon get that fixed.

Fuel cell / subwoofer box : My goal is to have a nice sounding audio system but keep the muscle car / race car look. When the trunk is open I don't want any audio equipment visible, not one wire. All wire going to the sub box will be passed through a steel braided fuel line. Hopefully this will turn out really good.

Here is the beginning of my sub/fuel cell project. I have a sub-enclosure that has about the same measurements of a 8 gallon racing fuel cell from Summit Racing. Next, I sanded the box with medium sand paper. I then primer the box and sanded in down. Primering the box will help the paint from soaking into MDF. I then filled any holes or pits in the MDF with filler and sanded it smooth.
I sprayed a base coat of black to cover the primer. Next, I sprayed two heavy coats of Krylon Wrinkle paint. The outcome looked real nice. I will how ever have to spray several more coats as some ares did not wrinkle as much as I would like. Stay tuned...
This is the fuel cell filler cap from Summit Racing that will be mounted in the top center of the sub box.
The sub box is going slow. I just can't get it to look the way I want.
I installed a pair of 6 1/2" mid bass speakers in the doors. I was not getting enough mid-bass up front. These made a huge difference in sound quality. I had to make the grill removable using velcro to attach them to the speaker. I did this to be able to roll down my window. The crank would hit the grill otherwise.
