Deuceofspades's 1932 Ford Model B

Hello,

My name is Faith and I am a hotrod girl and owner of the DEUCE OF SPADES.

I am completely in love with my nostalgic 1932 ford roadster hiboy and I work on it myself.

I bought it a year ago, a diamond still in the rough. The ford roadster originated from Minnesota in 1932 and it's slow metamorphosis into a hotrod first started in the early seventies. It took no less than 10 owners and 30 years to complete.

The deuce has seen four different engines to date, starting with a stock flathead, then another flathead, then a 283 and finally a 350 chevy. In the seventies an old school 69 tri-power Rochester set-up was also added. The powerglide transmission was then replaced with a 350 turbo. In 2000, the original 1932 frame was braced up with custom cross members, a new drive train was installed and the rear end was removed and replaced with an S-10 chevy. The cam was also replaced with a race cam, nothing too radical but just enough to give you that "Fropotipo" loping feeling which I love so.

The cool 54 chevy steering wheel was installed in 2001 and a steering column custom was built for it. At that point the car still was primer black and sported radial tires. It was sold and shipped to California where I found it with a FOR SALE sign one morning. I bought it on the spot. I had been extensively looking for a Hiboy and had been saving money for years. I am no rich girl, so trust me when I said this: The roadster purchase took me to the cleaners! But it was well worth it.

Since that day, I have been doing a lot of work on my Deuce, replacing failing old parts, revamping the front suspension and steering, finally giving the roadster a paint job and replacing the radial tires with old school bias plys Firestone tall skinnies.

Now the deuce was ready to star in the movie DEUCE OF SPADES... Wait. Almost ready. I made a custom horn button sporting a cool black spade in it. Yeas. Now it was READY to become a star, to be the Deuce of Spades.

You see, my passion for hotrods has lead me to set out to make a hotrod film. It has been SO LONG since the last hotrod movie and noone was stepping up to the plate. So I did. Real hotrods, real people, and near real situations, but the film is a fiction, a drama that will tug hard at your heart strings.

It is the story of a young 21 year old hotrodder named JOHNNY CALLAWAY (see his photos below) who built and ran the fastest street rod in Los Angeles from 1952 to 1955.

His passion for hotrods cost Johnny everything and he suffered greatly because of it, but when a hotrod girl from our present times ends up buying the car, she uses the Deuce of Spades to bring back Lady Luck into Johnny's life life and give him a second chance at a happiness long forgotten.
