This ride has since been sold as of July 09 :( I will miss her but it was sold to an enthusiast!
This is my 1992 Chevrolet Berreta GTZ. For 92 they came with the 3.94:1 tranny and 180 horsepower. Theres alot of differences between the QUAD4 motors depending what year of car you have. Some say 90 is the best year for the GTZ others say 92. I have owned both years and they feel very similar( My 90 was a dark garnet red Q4 H.O. with less than 138,000kms when I bought her 7 yrs ago....I miss that thing!)....tough call. Later models than 92 suffered from HP loss and "refinements" made to the engine. Unfortunately it took away HP.
Anyways, I bought this car for $1100 in Edmonton from a shady dealership. I started by getting a Custom side exit pipe that is free flow with a magnaflow muffler.

The car is loud as **** and is the loudest 4cyl Ive ever heard( If your standing beside the drivers side window I can make your hearing disappear!).

I added a CAI utilizing a K&N filter and a grand am QUAD4 intake tube.

The car has new glass, new plugs, stripped interior.

I recently blew the head gasket and I am working on tearing it down. It will be rebuilt with a crack free cyl head and looking to shave close to .010 off. I am looking for a set of w-41 cams and I will probably order the GM w-41 chip. I should have a fidanza flywheel and centerforce clutch for it by spring.

I raced it at the local track here which was damp, cold, and ended up getting rained out. It was my first time at the track so go easy! I need drag radials as the first race I had I burned all of 1st, 2nd, and missed 3rd. It was embarrasing for me and I have to make up for it!! I had hoped for a mid 15 and I know if I didnt miss a gear or burn tire for that long it would have been that. Next spring with the cams and chip and headwork I hope to run a mid to high 14 NA. I also should have some drag radials hopefully too. So 14's should be attainable.
I needed a new hood and trunk for this when I bought it. There was a z26 in the paper for parts and everything I grabbed was like new ( hood,

trunk lid,

rear tail light section )I changed the grille for a GT style for some better air flow to the rad. I run royal purple 20W50 and the bottom end is strong on this car. No knocks, no noise...very smooth. Next year it should be repainted volvo pearl orange or a similar red with pearl in it and the motor work should be done. I would also like a set of KYB GR2 struts and shocks along with a set of lowering springs ( probably sprints). I have a set of E36 headlights from a friend I will be installing soon and hopefully an HID kit. I also just picked up a set of 15" eagle alloys with Hankook Ventus performance tires. I'll throw these on for the track and see if they help in the spring. They are a little lighter than the GTZ wheels and they are 1" smaller so there should be a minor performance difference I hope. I also have an ad for the GTZ beretta I thought Id post.**UPDATES** May 26/08:
I just got it on the road here and I blew the stock clutch to smitherines. No wonder I missed gears last year at the track :)I ended up shaving .010 off the flywheel and threw in a stronger clutch. My W41 chip arrived courtesy of Racin17 on Quad4forums :). Also I ordered an underdrive crank pulley, a 12000K HID kit, clear side marker and bumper lights, car bra, new shift knob & boot and little odds and ends ( spark plug boot inserts etc ) I sprayed the console pieces black with red accents to match my shift knob and boot. As well I resprayed my rear taillight filler panel and added the light behind it.
