My lift on the b2 is a skyjacker, 6in lift. With 32in bfg's. As for the install it is pretty ez, all you need is a weekend or two. As for the 4.0 it is legal in cal, I have one in one of my b2. I did not license the motor to the vin on my car, I talked with a smog place, and they said the motor is so similar to the 2.9 most places will let it slide.

i dont think the 5.0L swap is legal in california. but look into a 4.0L i know they came in some early '90s rangers. but clean looking bII and good luck with the build.
