This is my 1988 Porsche 928S4 that I have owned since June 2004. IT appears mostly stock except for the 928GTS wheels (I recently swapped to 996 Turbo Twist wheels), silver muffler bypass (frees up 5-10hp), Momo steering wheel, and custom intake piping. Non-obvious mods include Autothority performance chips (manufacturer claims 30hp gain.) , relocated air sensor (gain of 15 hp), racing radiator, racing motor mounts, Zimmerman/Hawk brakes. I use Syn-Pro fully synthetic oil, which was developed specifically for sustained high-heat motor conditions, in this car, and have been very impressed. The drivetrain has been almost entirely rebuilt in the time that I have owned it, and it runs smooth and strong.
So far it has seen the Hallett road track twice at Porsche Club DEs, and done well in the 2 SCCA autocrosses it's been in.
This is my engine before some much-needed paint and polish work. The custom intake set-up is made with 3" lightweight aluminum piping, which was cut to fit, including timing belt breather holes. Then it was assembled with just some rubber sleeve connectors. I've noticed improved throttle response over the rather choking stock system, plus it just looks so much meaner lol.
And after the clean-up.
