Razor_Ray's 2000 Ford Fiesta

This is my Ford fiesta Mk5, project/ car Fiesta Razor. Here you will find a little diary for my project of tweaks and changes I have made. I will try to update this when any form of change has been made.

Upon buying the car the first change I made was the gear knob. Thankfully the gear knob had a twist off screw action to remove/ install so was fairly easy to do.
The replacement is a Razo make (unsure to what model) and looks much better. I have also changed the carpets and also the tax disc holder to a sexy alloy Ford one. Hint: Lighter fluid is a great way to get rid of old glue marks/ smudges from surfaces.

I have installed a 4 way switch adaptor running off the cigarette lighter socket. This allows 4 x 12v devices to run from the one power source.
As you can see I have placed the 4 way unit under and to the side of the glove box. This is out of the way which makes everything nice and neat. The total power usage of the box must not exceed 16amps which Ill find hard to reach anyways.

The 4way cigarette lighter unit has a 4way control box that allows the control of each of the 4 plugs in the adaptor. I have placed the control box in front of the gear stick unit just under the cigarette ash tray. Each of the individual buttons on the switch box light up in an ice blue colour. When the 4 way switch unit it not in use the cigarette plug for its power source tucks away very nicely into the cigarette ash try and out of sight..

On the front and back seat belts I have put VR type pads for a sportier look. I have also added a suction compass for display to the front window.

On the door locks to the car I have changed the standard black plastic covers to chrome ones with the help of some super-glue.

The most dynamic change I have made to the car so far, the addition of some lime green neon lights in the footwells and under the passenger and driver seats. When night comes these look awesome and really do transform the car.

The neons are run in two pairs. Each pair run into a transformer box which in turn run off a cigarette lighter plug which plugs into the 4 way switch box controlled in pairs.

I have changed the orange indicators/ repeaters on the side of the car. These are now a clear/ crystal type lense. In turn I have changed the bulbs from a clear flash-white type to a chrome flash-orange bulb to match.

I have implemented a fuel-door cover and headrest-springs. I did also try to remove the orange Ive been tangoed indictor lenses from the font lights however, upon doing (and being too heavy handed!) I managed to crack the plastic of the light! Owell, Im going to leave them for the time being and save up for some sexy halo lights instead!

During the week I ordered some rear Lexus style lights off ebay. To tell the truth the advert in which it was for had no descriptions, only informing they where for a fiesta (no year etc.) and just some pictures. Due to only this there where no bids for them. Gambling on a whim I put a bid on them and in turn won. I bought them at less than half the RRP (hoping they would fit). Upon them arriving on the weekend I found they fitted perfectly!! They look excellent! In fantastic condition at a bargin price, what more can you ask for?! They where fairly easy to change, just the case of unscrewing 6 screws, taking the old lights off, putting the new ones on, screwing back-up the 6 screws and then swapping over the wiring. I changed the indicator bulbs to the chrome flash-orange ones to match.

I also de-badged the car (got rid of the fiesta and zetec) with the help of some boiling water and an old fake ID card. I used some general house cleaner, lighter fluid and some good oold elbow grease to get rid of the left over glue/ marks and then added a bit of polish for the finish. I also fitted a new aerial to the car too.

This weekend I have only done a few minor tweaks. My first tweak (more like an upgrade) was the upgrading of the interior light. I have upgraded it to a 3 tier model (2 reading/ map lights and 1 brighter center light) rather than the 1 singular dim light model.

My next change was the rear window winders. I have removed the boring plastic models with chrome style ones. This is something only the rear passengers will appreciate/ benefit.

My last two changes where the addition of a boot handle stud over the lock and chrome tips on the side mirrors adjustment knobs/ stalks.
