F2-Stu's 1998 Seat CordobaBought in June 2005 with 49k on the clock, mint leather interior for the sum of ?2200 to replace my beloved Ibiza As I yearned for more speed, I chose the Cordoba mainly due to its saloon looks and was not as commen as the Ibiza, was also significantly cheaper to the Cupra Sport which had the same 150hp 2.0 16v engine. It was a little rough around the edges But I saw past this as I had big plans for the car, had a bit of a polava getting it through the MOT as the wheels were buckeld so I stuck the spare wheels from the Ibiza to get it through and ?100 off the asking! Once I got it home that day I had it in pieces, the grill had been hacked about so that was replaced by A Slated Fk Grill, also changed the cambelt to as that was due as well as swapping the WRC front bumper to a standard one as speed hmps around these parts were an utter PITA

F2-Stu's 1998 Seat CordobaOnce the Ibiza was reverted back to standard and sold off to a friend I started gathering parts, from the Ibiza I was able to transfer the strutbraces ,the uprated antiroll bars, 15mm rear spacers the Compomotive Mo's, in addition I sourced some rather cheap Mk4 Ibiza Cupra AP 4 piston calipers to run on 312mm discs which fitted behind the wheels by 0.5mm to spare! and Stainless steel Fk coilovers to replace the somewhat dubious KYB suspension that the car came with.

F2-Stu's 1998 Seat CordobaAnother rough edge was the exhaust, it had a custom powerflow exhuast which was a total bodge to say the least, for Amusement perposes I chopped off the back box and replaced it with a Cherry Bomb (LOUD!). A more suitable exhuast was needed and had a Jetex 2.5" Cordoba Cupra 20vt Import especially from Sweden and was a doddle to fit. Also ditched the K&N induction kit in favour of a Modified (drilled) OEM airbox with a Green Panel filter.

I had always intended to fit a rollcage to the car even though the car came with a mint leather interior which was an optional extra. I had bought the Ex 'Rockingham' Custom cage's cage for the Ibiza which I aqquired 2nd hand for ?50, Fitting involved welding reinforcing plates with captive nuts to the shell for the cage to bolt to, Had a little accident where I melted the fuel lines in two - whoops!
