Cool, new, and almost exciting news center!

The avalon is now tri-amped. (amplifiers with active crossovers for tweeters, mids, and subwoofer)

Also it appears that the avalon's crankshaft is walking. Very good for pumping oil right out of the engine! But with 230,000 miles on the clock, stuff happens, right?

Sup guys, Welcome to my lair of car-ness. Here you'll find my car, a first generation 1996 Toyota Avalon XLS. A heads up is that I do all my own work, mainly on the electrical, sound, and lighting system.(brakes/rotars, stuff like that too) Basicaly anything that is connected with wire, chances are I've took it apart. And If I can't take it apart, I don't own it!

Lets start out with a happy new car owner and the shiny wax, un modified editon!

A mega whopping V6 1MZ-FE 3.0 Liter (thats fancy talk for otherwise stock)
Thats what Im talking about.!

So maybe I should start witha story... nah! long made short. Bought the car for $300 with front driver side damage, restored the car for 2,500~ Another note is that I got the car with 196,000 miles in 2006. I got to watch it tick over to 200,000! Now its at 217,000 miles and still runs like a champ, and now its due for another oil change. :P

I have too much free time, So I wind up doing something or another to my car.

I start the first page as a show page, the corresponding pages will be documentation on what I did, what I plan to do, and more pictures!
_________________________________________________________________________________

First mod: replace broken CD changer/deck with Pioneer DEH-6900
what a pain that was. I'm still using the JBL 6 Speaker system for my doors.

_________________________________________________________________________________

Second mod: THUMPTHUMPBOOMBOOM version two. haha, almost rhymes.
Eminence Omega 18" (4" coil, cast aluminum, 800W RMS)

_________________________________________________________________________________

Third mod: sticking it to the man with epic back up lights: Two 55watt halogen fixtures

_________________________________________________________________________________

I lost count what mod this is: Pimp up the interior with some accent lighting. 12" CCFLs mounted under seats, front and back, fades with dome lights

_________________________________________________________________________________

Fog mod: Bored, wanted to mess arround with more external lighting, picked up some driving lamps and mounted into grill, manual on/off or automatic with lows. Again moar 55 watt halogens. I drilled out the inside of each lamp and put in LEDs for whatever odd reason. Cops sure like it.

I just replaced the normal halogen lamps with a set of SilverStar Ultras, they're alright. If I get the super COURAGE of AWESOMENESS I'd do a HID retrofit, but it would prolly turn out like trash. :D If I ever get that CNC machine finished that I've been planning, then it would be a reality.

Volt mod: wanted a badass and annoying way to montior my cars voltage + drops. Heres my contribution +-20 volt meter fresh from hongkong!:

Heres a terrible video, too:

Stock electical? Hell no! Its like an octopus' worst nightmare!
Score! Optima Yellow top, and plan to upgrade the alternator to 130 amps

Second Yellow top in the trunk, 4 gauge copper runs.

_________________________________________________________________________________

By the way, I hate running high loads off of one positive wire and using the chasis as negitive. Notice the few for the subwoofer and alternator.

New pedals. I got bored and wanted some more things to do:

Also my LEDs came so I did that to my instrument cluster. Something is depressing with the later picture, go find it!

Heres a shot of the outside of my car with the doors open.

Wanted to put new mags on the car too, after winter. cause these are sorta shot with salt corrosion. Like the Koing Further, 16". but that stuff costs money. But we all know we college kids have an unlimited supply of money, right? But whatever, I pressure washed my wheels to hell and back, and they look alright. Flat alloy color is a little annoying though. I though about painting them, but that seems like such a ricer-ish idea!

(OLD)Update: ITS FRIGGIN' COLD!

But on a nice, new update, A heatwave must be coming though cause it was like 30 degrees today, Love that Chicago winter!

Just modded my dash out with blue LEDs, Ill post more and hopefully folowing pages when im not tired.

Feel free to comment! I COMMAND IT!

Oh, and for the record I just changed my oil at 214,960mi
Castrol and some Slick 50.

This is me keeping it real in this bitch, LOL.

Hi, I was wondering is there a way to convert the avi headlights? I want to go with Helo projector lights, and I am trying to convert my taillights with l.e.d and if you think of way get back at me, thanks
