Paul and Susan's 1938 Pontiac Deluxe 6 Street rod. Color is Tahitian Green Pearl.

This is an old school rod that while it is fun and very presentable, is in line for a make-over. Interior is mostly original except for the late 70s Monte Carlo tilt column topped with an 88 Pontiac leather steering wheel. Front seat is from the Monte Carlo, as is the seat cover on the original rear seat.

This will all soon be replaced with nearly new condition, tan leather seats from a 98 Buick Riviera, along with new leather and cloth panels headliner and carpet. Gauges will be 3-3/8" quad, tach and speedometer in antique beige by TPI Tech

The engine is a powerfully built 327 small block Chev with high performance cam, roller rockers, Holley 650 carb, Edelbrock intake, air cleaner and valve covers. Transmission is a TH350 with 2800 stall converter. Rear end is Camaro with 2.78 Highway gearing. Camaro front clip without power steering will soon have a new disc brake conversion. Wheels are vintage American Racing with Firestone tires. Since they are 14", these will be replaced with 15" or 16" chromed Pontiac Rally II wheels when the brake conversion is done.

While we love the car the way it sits, it needs to be freshened up, and maybe even given back its warrior image.

Plans for the make-over include a totally rebuilt 335 HP 1968 Pontiac Firebird 400 engine with performance cam, roller rockers and lifters, Holley 670 Street Avenger carb, Longbranch cast iron headers, teamed with a BOP TH350 with 2800 stall converter in front of a Gearvendors over/underdrive, and a 3.36 Pontiac 10 bolt, positraction rear end. We have all the parts on hand, just need to add time and effort.
